Makeup Expiry Dates

Know your makeup’s use-by dates and chuck away the ones that have died.
A woman finds it tough to throw out makeup that she has not fully used up.
However, makeup has a shelf life and it is important to adhere to the expiry date. Using expired makeup may risk your skin or even your health.
For example, a spoiled shadow or bacteria-laden mascara can cause conjunctivitis, better known as pinkeye.
Here’s a rundown on the shelf life for each makeup item:
● Mascara: 6 months
● Eye pencils: 1.5 years
● Eyeshadow: 2 years
● Powder blush, cream blush, powder, liquid foundation, concealer: 2 years
● Lipstick, lip liner, lip gloss: 1.5 years
Tip: Makeup starts to oxidise once opened, so do not unwrap it until you are ready to use it.
