Vela is a brand of scarves that aims to capture the rare combination of modesty and high fashion.
Vela’s founder, Marwa Atik, started to design scarves in 2009 when she was still a sophomore in college, incorporating favourite accents such as ruffles and zippers onto her otherwise plain scarves. She received so many compliments for her creations that in 2010 she and her sister, Tasneem Atik Sabri, partnered to officially launch their company and website, Vela — Latin for ‘veil’.
Vela scarves are elegant, modern and modest all at the same time, and are made from fine fabrics. Browsing through the Vela website is like entering a hijabella haven, with plenty of chic veils to choose from, be they square scarves or long, wrap scarves.
