A freshly launched app from Singapore aims to introduce its users, most of whom would be Muslim, to potential spouses.

Mat & Minah, which for now is available only on iOS, refers to slang terms for a Malay man (Mat) and woman (Minah).

Although the app’s website never mentions religion, most Singapore Malays are Muslim and thus have unique requirements when searching for a spouse.

The app is spreading the word with a slick minute-long video that pokes fun at various stereotypes and subcultures commonly followed by Malay men:

Reports say that Mat & Minah has an interface similar to popular mainstream dating app Tinder, in which users view potential matches and swipe right to learn more or left to reject.

According to the app’s website:

“The goal of this app is to create opportunities for our Brothers and Sisters to get to know each other in a private and safe manner. It is our hope that the friendship developed through this app will result in a meaningful relationship.”

Its developer, Zoosware, reportedly plans to release an Android version in the coming weeks.
