Leading thinkers, practitioners and policymakers in Islamic economics will gather in a summit meeting co-organised by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Thomson Reuters on 25th and 26th November 2013 at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, UAE.

The Global Islamic Economy Summit (GIES), organised under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, is an inaugural forum for the Islamic finance sector and the halal industries. The event aims to bring together world-class experts in Islamic finance as well as halal food, travel and lifestyle industries to network, discuss and address the current challenges and opportunities in these fields.

In addition to providing networking opportunities, the summit will also recognise companies that have successfully demonstrated significant business and social impact while applying an ethos of Islamic economics, with the presentation of the Islamic Economy Award. The Award is divided into 14 categories, covering a broad range of fields from finance to media, with an additional individual award for lifetime achievement.

A number of selected companies representing important Islamic economic sectors will also be showcased during the event. Aquila Style will be participating in the “Lifestyle” category, in addition to being featured in the exclusive report of the GIES, The State of the Global Islamic Economy 2013.
